The original town of Rock Creek was located seven Miles South of Hansen. According to Charles Walgmott the first Settlement was in 1863 which Consisted of a Blacksmith a Hotel and a General store to provide services to the Rock Creek area the Town of Rock Creek and the Cemetery has been located in several counties which were Owyhee, Cassia and currently Twin Falls. The First post office in Cassia and Twin Falls County  was formed in 1871 and lasted until 1925 which makes Rock Creek the oldest town in Twin Falls County. The Town of Rock Creek began to diminish in 1907 as a result of the Oregon Short line Railroad running its tracks through the Current town of Hansen. By 1925 there was no one left and Rock Creek became a ghost town the only thing that remains of the Original town is the Rock Creek Veterans memorial Cemetery.
